Expanding musicianship was the result of the three day Trio Workshop. Students studied percussion, bass, and ukulele; learning the different functions of each instrument as well as the common musical concepts used by all. On Day One, Merlin showed how to translate strumming patterns into percussion patterns and how to add variation. Students were also treated to two pieces performed by the trio. Day Two was Bass with Milo Fultz where students got to play UBasses and experiment with bass lines. Day Three was Right Hand Ukulele Techniques with Neal Chin. At the end of class the students chose either bongolele, bass, or ukulele for a rendition of "Route 66".
